About The Amguri Municipal Board

Amguri is one of the developing town in the district of Sivasagar, Assam. It shares its boundaries east Chungmai Konwar Village, west Jhanji River, north Raidongia village and in the south Borbam Tea Estate. Amguri is well connected by Ground transportation and rails. Smt. Anamika Neog Baishya and Smt. Manashi Borah are Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson respectively. Mr. Ankan Jyoti Phukan, ACS is working as an Executive Officer of Amguri Municipal Board.

Geography

Amguri is located at Lat=26.811283, Longtude 94.52251. It has an avarage elevation of 50 meters. It is a beautiful town situated on the bank of Jhanji River.

Demography

As of 2011 India census, the Amgyri Municipal Board has a population of 8002 of which 4,268 are males while 3,734 are females as per report released  by census India 2011.

Amguri Municipal Board has total administration of over 1,845 houses to which it supplies basic amenities like water, collection of waste from home and roads etc. and street light. It is also authorised to build roads within Municipal Board limits and impose taxes on properties coming under its jurisdiction.
